Day Five - Rain Rain Go Away!

After a very full Lobster meal last night we woke up late this morning to a rainy and gloomy weather.

We walked to the Province House and saw the birthplace of Canada. We also walked around the city but our walking was cut short by the rain.

Despite the gloomy weather, our impressions of Charlottetown were very pleasant. Everyone was very friendly and the town was clean and cozy yet full of amenities native to a larger city, such as large grocery stores open 24/7, restaurants, shops and shopping malls.

After our quick stroll through the rainy town of Charlottetown, we drove to the beach... It was in our original plans to go to a beach in PEI, so a little drizzle was not about to stop us from swimming in the ocean!

The beach was spectacular. There were no people at the beach except for us and the lifeguards. Alex and Andrey went for a swim, but Katia and I just walked in the water, because it was quite cold and windy. PEI is famous for its red sand beaches and this beach was no different. Once we all dried up we carried on with our drive.

The weather was not in our favor and rain caught up to us as we drove to the Ferry that would take us to New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.

The ferry ride was very rough. It's was raining and the waves were very hight, so the ferry boat kept rocking the whole time. The crossing took just a bit over an hour. We played Munchkin to kill the time.

When we arrived to Nova Scotia at was already dark so we called it a night soon after we checked in to our hotel.

LITTLE INFO ABOUT THE DRIVER:

Alex has been driving the whole time and he seems to enjoy it. And that is understandable, anyone would love to be the "captain" of our awesome "East Coast Mobile". We drive for short periods of time with frequent stops. So far the longest stretch was from Halifax to Digby that took about 2.5 hours. Great job Alex!
